Acosta is a unique individual. Not only is he a retired professional Western boxer, but he also fought Semi-Pro Muay Thai and went undefeated in Greco-Roman wrestling. Along with his patience and understanding, with this background, he looks to have functionality in what he teaches and has earned himself a California State title in Muay Thai.

Guadalupe Acosta currently studies underneath Sifu Gary Lam in Monterey Park, Los Angeles, CA. Sifu Lam trained with Wong Shun Leung for over 15 years and was his head coach for 6 years.

Wong Shun Leung was a student of Yip Man, named King of The Talking Hands, for all of the challenge matches he took part in. He is also known to be the person most directly responsible for instructing and influencing the famous Bruce Lee. You will find some of the concepts, ideas, and drills of JKD to be similar or the same.

If you are serious about your martial arts studies of Wing Chun and would like to learn directly from Sifu Gary Lam himself. Acosta is a bridge that can make this possible. Acosta makes trips monthly from San Francisco to Los Angeles, which serious students can become a part of.

Guadalupe Acosta has had the privilege of also studying underneath Sifu Greg LeBlanc.

Sifu LeBlanc is the first student in the U.S.A. to attain and be recognized as a Sifu in the Gary Lam Wing Chun System. He is recognized as the first Sihing (Big Brother) of the Gary Lam school in LA.

From Sifu Greg LeBlanc, Acosta has learned the basics, foundation, structure, and concepts of Wing Chun that have continued to carry him on his journey.

From Sifu Gary Lam, Acosta continues to refine his understanding of Wing Chun learning higher concepts and developing higher skills and abilities.

Acosta considers himself to be a humble person. He understands in order to improve and upgrade, you need to be able to improve and upgrade those around you.
